Understanding the Camera Shutter and Shutter Speed
When you take a picture, the shutter is the part of the camera that opens to let the light in and exposes the subject to the sensor. This makes it possible for light to create an image.
Without the shutter, you can’t have a working camera, but beyond that - understanding that you can control the speed of the shutter will help you take better photos in different lighting conditions.

In the next few days, experiment with your camera’s shutter controls for both indoor and outdoor shots. Take multiple pictures of the same subject, changing nothing but the shutter speed to see for yourself the different effects you can get with this one control.
